01Scope
This policy covers two things: the gpui-starter website at gpui-starter.hmziq.xyz and the gpui-starter desktop application.
The app runs locally on your machine. It makes no outbound network calls and collects no telemetry. What happens on your computer stays on your computer.
02Data we collect
The website uses Google Analytics (via Firebase) to understand basic usage patterns. It automatically collects:
- Page views (URL, title, referrer)
- Device info (browser, OS, screen resolution)
- Anonymized IP address (last octet zeroed out)
- Session duration and engagement metrics
No cookies are used for tracking. Firebase Analytics relies on first-party storage. We do not collect names, emails, or any personally identifiable information. The desktop app collects nothing.
03Data we don't collect
- Name, email, or any other personally identifiable information
- Cross-site trackers or third-party ad pixels
- Any data from the desktop application
04Third-party services
The site loads the following external resources:
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized page-view data.
The Firebase SDK is loaded from gstatic.com. Their privacy practices are documented in the Google Privacy Policy.
We serve Inter and JetBrains Mono from Google's CDN. Their privacy practices are documented in the Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
Links to github.com take you off this site. GitHub's own privacy policy applies once you arrive there.
05Your rights
Regulations like GDPR (EU/EEA) and CCPA (California) give you the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Our analytics collection is limited to anonymized, aggregate data — we do not have personal data to return or delete. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. If that ever changes, this page will say so.
06Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Every revision is tracked in the repo, so you can view the full edit history.
